Thanh T. Luong is a second-year medical student at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine. Thanh graduated magna cum laude with College Honors distinction from the University of California, Los Angeles with a B.S. in Biochemistry before her pursuit of a career in medicine. During her preclinical years at UCSD-SOM, Thanh actively participates in the leaderships of UCSD Otolaryngology student-run free clinic and the Asian Pacific American Medical Association, aiming to improve health disparity in the community, providing free health screening as well as coordinating COVID-19 vaccination effort. In addition, Thanh has been partaking in several projects in the department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. One of the most current projects involves utilizing online-based surveys and psychological smell testing to assess measures of health utility and quality of life for COVID-19 associated olfactory loss. Thanh is excited to join COSM 2022 to learn more about the field of Otolaryngology, to immerse into the cutting edge research and unlimited networking opportunities.
