Jumah G. Ahmad is a 3rd year resident physician in the Otorhinolaryngology department at the University of Texas - Health Sciences Center at Houston. He completed his undergraduate education in his hometown at the University of Missouri in Kansas City, graduating with two Bachelor of Science degrees in Biomedical Sciences and Chemistry. He obtained his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Missouri in Columbia in 2019 before moving to Houston, Texas for his surgical training. His interests include resident education, clinical outcomes research, technological surgical integration, anesthetic techniques in otolaryngology, and advances in minimally invasive surgery of the head and neck especially as it relates to endoscopic and microscopic surgery. He has authored multiped new chapters, namely on anesthetic considerations in pediatric otolaryngology for the upcoming edition of "Bailey's Head and Neck Surgery: Otolaryngology", on anesthesia for functional endoscopic sinus surgery in the "Society for Head and Neck Anesthesia", and on advancements in otologic surgery focused on minimally invasive endoscopic and exoscopic techniques in Springer's new title "Advances in OMFS, ENT, and Facial Plastic Surgery." He serves as the ABOHNS delegate for the AAOHNS Section for Residents and Fellows. In his free time, he enjoys futbol, table tennis, rock climbing, pen and ink drawing, hiking, and fishing.
