Vijay Ramakrishnan, MD, is a Professor of Rhinology in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed fellowship training in advanced rhinology and skull base surgery at the University of Pennsylvania, and served on the University of Colorado Otolaryngology faculty for many years. He is a board-certified Otolaryngologist and Fellow of the American Rhinologic Society. He serves as Director of Rhinology Research and Co-Director of the Rhinology Fellowship Program, with clinical expertise including the treatment of nasal obstruction, chronic rhinosinusitis and nasal polyps, complex sino-orbital diseases, CSF leaks and skull base tumors. He participates in clinical research in the realm of minimally invasive endoscopic and skull base approaches, and surgical outcomes in chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS). His basic science research focuses on chemosensory detection in the airway with specific regard to the microbiome and mucosal inflammation.
