Dr. Edward Kuan, MD, MBA, FARS is Director of Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery, co-director of the Comprehensive Skull Base Program, and Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and Neurological Surgery at the University of California, Irvine. The focus of his clinical practice is complex and revision sinus surgery, and endoscopic surgical treatment of sinonasal tumors and skull base pathology. A Southern California native, he graduated summa cum laude from UCLA with dual degrees in Business Economics and Biology. He received his medical degree with Distinction from the UC Irvine School of Medicine. He then completed residency training in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery at UCLA, followed by subspecialty fellowship training in rhinology and skull base surgery at the University of Pennsylvania. His research interests are in bioengineering applications in otolaryngology, as well as clinical outcomes of sinus, sinonasal tumor, and skull base surgery. He has authored more than 200 peer-reviewed publications, review articles, and book chapters in otolaryngology and rhinology. He is active in the American Rhinologic Society, Triological Society, and North American Skull Base Society.
