Dr. Eric Genden is the Isadore Freisner Endowed Professor and Chairman of the Department of Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He is a Professor of Immunology and Neurosurgery and member of the Tisch Cancer Center. Dr. Genden also serves as a Senior Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs. Dr. Genden graduated from Columbia University where he majored in economics and premedical studies. He then graduated The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai with a distinction in Research. Dr. Genden performed his surgical training at Barnes Hospital, Washington University and completed a head and neck Oncology and microvascular surgical fellowship at The Mount Sinai Medical Center. He is a graduate of Harvard University with a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration. Dr. Genden is considered an international expert in head and neck cancer and microvascular reconstruction. He has authored and edited 6 textbooks on the subjects of head and neck cancer, microvascular reconstruction, and robotic head and neck surgery. Dr. Genden supervises basic science laboratory research in the area of transplant immunobiology and head and neck cancer biology.
