Dr. Lee M. Akst is Director of Laryngology at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. Prior to serving in this role at Johns Hopkins, Dr. Akst completed medical school at Yale University, residency at the Cleveland Clinic, and fellowship at the Center for Laryngeal Surgery and Voice Rehabiltiation at Massachusetts General Hospital. His clinical interests within Laryngology include photoangiolytic laser procedures for care of vocal fold epithelial lesions and office-based procedures. He has written and lectured on use of robotic technology in microlaryngeal surgery, evaluation and treatment of laryngopharyngeal reflux, and treatment of vocla fold leukoplakia.
