Steven Eliades MD,PhD is a faculty member in the Department of Head and Neck Surgery & Communcation Sciences at Duke University School of Medicine. He received his undergraduate training in Biomedical Engineering at the Johns Hopkins University, followed by an MD and PhD, also in Biomedical Engineering, at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. His thesis work under Dr Xiaoqin Wang at Johns Hopkins focused on hearing and vocal production in non-human primates. He subsequently did his residency training in Otolaryngology: Head & Neck Surgery at Johns Hopkins before starting his first faculty position at the University of Pennsylvania. He just recently moved to Duke University. He is an NIH-funded clinician-scientist with a clinical focus in Otology and runs a basic and translational research lab examining mechanisms of hearing and vocal communication.
