Alexander D. Claussen, M.D. is currently a second year Neurotology Fellow at University of California San Diego. Prior to fellowship training, he completed a T32 Research Track Residency at University of Iowa where he helped pioneer a novel mouse model of cochlear implantation. He has also participated in development of multiple otoprotective compounds of noise- and drug-induced hearing loss both at Southern Illinois Unversity School of Medicine, working with Dr. Kathleen Campbell, PhD and at the National Institutes of Health, National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders, working with Dr. Lisa Cunningham, PhD.
