Jay has a long career in energy, starting his career in traditional generation and moving to renewables in 2008 as QHSE Manager at ORMAT. He has been Director of O&M for CalEnergy at their Imperial Valley operations. 2012 Jay joined First Solar's O&M team as Plant Manager, eventually taking the role of Regional Manager having oversite of 1.8GW of solar sites in the Imperial Valley and Desert Center. During his time at First Solar, Jay and his team assisted in the commissioning and startup of over a dozen PV solar facilities. After a short stay at sPower/AES, Jay joined the Lightsource bp team and recently celebrated his first year. Currently Jay's duties include serving as subject matter expert for asset management issues, overseeing O&M onboarding of new sites, auditing 3rd party O&M provider activities and supporting load limiting technical issues. Since joining Lightsource bp, Jay has been active in supporting the development of biodiversity plans for all LSbp sites. LSbp has a goal of having solar sites be enhancers of biodiversity on the land that they have stewardship over. In 2006 Jay earned a MBA from University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. He currently resides with his wife Jeralyn in Lax Lake, Minnesota where they participate in community service and enjoy the beauty of living in Northern Minnesota. Living along the North Shore of Lake Superior reminds him every day why we work so hard to overcome the environmental challenges we face in our home towns, our nation and our global community.
