Dr. Quintos-Alagheband is a Board certified Critical Care Physician, QI Leader and Educator. She completed her pediatric residency and chief residency training at New York University Medical Center. Subsequently she finished her critical care fellowship training at the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles – Keck Medical School, University of Southern California. As an educator, Dr. Quintos-Alagheband led the establishment of the Performance Improvement Science Academy at NYU Winthrop Hospital and served as Director of the program for 5 years. She is currently the Director of Health Systems Science for the NYU Long Island School of Medicine and the Chief Quality Officer for Children’s Services at NYU Langone Long Island.
Dr. Quintos-Alagheband completed advanced training in Quality Improvement and Leadership science. She is a graduate of the GNYHA/UHF Clinical Quality Fellowship Program and the HANYS’ Academy for Healthcare Leadership Advancement at Johnston Cornell University Executive program. Her expertise includes the design, innovation and execution of high value Quality Improvement (QI) and Patient Safety project portfolio and leadership of cross-functional teams. She is a Black Belt in Lean, Six Sigma (LSS) methodology, with expertise in the application of LSS and change management principles in process improvement. One of her portfolio highlight is serving as the principal investigator for the Key-card Change Program, a standardized model for patient and family engagement in patient safety.
Dr. Quintos-Alagheband has served various leadership positions at the national and regional level in QI and Patient Safety. She is the Chair for the NYS Pediatric Sepsis Advisory Taskforce and is the designated Regional Culture of Safety and High Reliability Subject Matter Expert for the Children’s Hospitals Solutions for Patient Safety National Network
