Dr. Molly Borchardt is currently in the role of Director, Specialty Pharmacy and Innovation, at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC) where she leads strategy and execution of specialty drug management and implementation of other innovative solutions. Her work focuses on specialty network strategy, coordination of medical and pharmacy specialty drug clinical programs, and she has a particular interest in high cost therapy management. She is also preceptor for the Blue Cross NC pharmacy residency program.
Previously Borchardt held various roles at Prime Therapeutics. During her tenure at Prime, Borchardt has collaborated with Prime’s clinical and client engagement internal teams to support client initiatives and design and implement client-specific solutions in the area of specialty pharmacy.
Borchardt has more than 10 years of experience in specialty and managed care pharmacy. Her experience includes a previous tenure supervisory roles with Coram Specialty Infusion where she led the Hemophilia Center of Excellence and was responsible for oversight of the group that provided clinical management for hemophilia patients across the company.
Borchardt has previously sat on the School of Pharmacy Relations Committee for the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy and is an active member. She is a guest lecturer at the University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy and Campbell University College of Pharmacy.
Borchardt holds a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Minnesota. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology from Boston University
