Sheryl Eder, RN, MSN, CNOR, CRCST, CHL has over 25 years of experience in perioperative services, research, sterile processing science and nursing education. After 10 years in OR and perioperative research, she became the nurse educator and training specialist for sterile processing at the Bay Pines VA Healthcare System in Bay Pines, Florida, in 2009 where she facilitated development of preceptor and certification programs for sterile processing technicians throughout the VA system. She completed her MSN and was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau in 2011. Sheryl serves AORN’s Sterile Processing Supply Chain Management Specialty Assembly as a board member. Ms. Eder served as Education Consultant for 3M, presenting on infection control and sterile processing subjects nationally. She was selected as the 2014 IAHCSMM Educator of the Year. She has also developed training and educational programs for sterile processing, clinics, dental, and perioperative staff and has written multiple CE and journal articles on sterile processing and perioperative practice. Sheryl is the Field Advisor for Sterile Processing and Disinfection for Hope International Ministries in the Dominican Republic and is currently the Assistant Chief Nurse of Perioperative and Sterile Processing Service for the Bay Pines VA Healthcare System in Bay Pines/St. Pete Florida.
