Lynette has a bachelor's degree in Psychology. She spent 28 years in law enforcement as a Sergeant with the William Paterson University Police Department in NJ, after serving 13 years as a National Fugitive Investigator with International Fidelity Insurance Company. During this time, Lynette was a successful Bounty Hunter, earning the title of America's Top Bounty Hunter five consecutive years by the New York Post. Lynette has worked with police departments across the country as well as collaborated with Immigration and Interpol to bring fugitives to justice. During Lynette’s tenure with William Paterson, she played a significant role in developing educational, professional and mental health programming opportunities for veterans returning from Afghanistan and Iraq. She served as Director of the Office of Veteran and Military Affairs at William Paterson for 8 years. For the last 15 years Lynette has served as Law Enforcement Coordinator for the Passaic County Crisis Intervention Team in New Jersey, where she created a de-escalation, wellness and community engagement curriculum. Lynette is a national trainer for Mental Health First Aid USA. She has trained over 15,000 law enforcement officer’s and recruits in de-escalation, community engagement, diversity and recognition of mental health issues in the community. In 2018 The Lynn Shaw Group (Consulting and Training), was established to provide mental health education, de-escalation, resiliency and wellness training to law enforcement, educators, and community stakeholders. This company was conceptualized from her own experiences as a law enforcement officer with PTSD and her personal mental health journey.
