Wendy Miller, FASLA, has over 35 years experience as a landscape architect in urban design and transportation planning focusing on community engagement, environmental policy, and project development. Wendy continually looks for innovative ways to involve communities and to educate stakeholders on the importance of prioritizing people first in mobility design solutions. She believes it’s critical to have landscape architects involved in shaping transportation corridors - our most ubiquitous public realm. Looking back on 2020 serving as ASLA President, Wendy is awed by the resilience of our ASLA team supporting us through a pandemic and the transition of leadership to Torey Carter-Conneen, CEO, while developing a stellar virtual event - ASLA reVISION. As Wendy noted, "2020 brought racial injustice and our climate crisis into sharp focus - landscape architects are rising to address our role in systemic racism in the built environment and seeing with clarity the essential need for our work in designing for human health and community well being."
