Marney has worked as a volunteer with the Gardens of Alcatraz project since 2005 -- restoring, maintaining, and photographing the historic gardens. Since 2009, she has also given interpretive tours for Alcatraz visitors. Her previous career in software development focused on computer-assisted instruction and management of user experience design and accessibility.
