Mark H. Hough, FASLA, has been the University Landscape Architect at Duke University since 2000. His oversight of the Olmsted Brothers-designed campus includes all aspects of design, planning, historic preservation, and natural resource management. His projects at Duke have won numerous local, regional, and national design and planning awards. Hough is a published photographer and an award-winning writer whose work on cultural, campus, and urban landscapes has appeared extensively in print and online publications. He is currently completing a book for UVA Press on the management and stewardship of significant designed landscapes.
