Steph Thisius-Sanders, PLA, ASLA, is the Planning & Construction Director for North of the River Recreation and Park District (NOR). NOR is a special district with jurisdiction around Bakersfield, California, that plans, organizes and conducts a wide variety of park and recreation programs within the District’s 215 square mile boundary. Included within the service boundaries are 24 park sites totaling approximately 270 developed acres with roughly 75 undeveloped acres in various stages of land planning. Steph oversees the land acquisition, planning, grants, design, construction and, previously maintenance, for NOR.
