UF Resource Efficient Communities Resilience Initiative, Florida
Jerry is a certified floodplain manager, certified planner and legal scholar. His work and research focuses on land use planning/control law, community-based planning, code and regulation drafting, floodplain management, infrastructure finance and planning, post-disaster redevelopment planning , community resiliency and sustainability. He leads the University of Florida's Program for Resource Efficient Communities Resilience Initiative, working with local governments through master research agreements to assemble expert teams to craft planning strategies to address the challenges facing local governments in the 21st Century. Co-Chair of the Association of State Floodplain Managers' Higher Education Sub-committee and academia representative for ASFPM Board of Regents.
