This session aims to uncover landscape architecture’s potential to affect every-day socio-aesthetic experience concerning climate crisis. Highlighting an infrastructural landscape project siting 28 major dams in Korea, we will discuss the process of reframing the design question to include the climate crisis.

Learning Outcomes:

Understand the role of landscape architects to affect socio-aesthetic experience through design
Articulate the importance of bringing climate change into narrative
Explore non-technical, non-ecological landscape interventions as tools to raise public awareness
Consider different planning measures in evaluating ecosystem services to incorporate raised climate conscience to nearby communities
