Dr. Kirsty Bastable is a post-doctoral fellow at the Centre for AAC at the University of Pretoria. She is passionate about AAC for meaningful communication and the participation of individuals with disabilities. Her research has focuses on the participation of individuals with disabilities in all facets of life, including the participation of children in their environments, sexual education programmes for youth with severe disabilities, and the participation of youth with severe communication disabilities in research.
