Carol Scheffner Hammer, Ph.D., CCC is Professor of Communication Sciences and Disorders and Vice Dean for Research at Teachers College, Columbia University. Her research focuses on cultural and environmental influences on young children’s development and on promoting preschoolers’ school readiness. Her work has been continually funded since 2000 by federal agencies, including the NIH-NICHD and the US Department of Education. Dr. Hammer is past Editor of the AJSLP and an ASHA Fellow.
