Dr. McCoy is passionate about bringing together principles of applied behavior analysis and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) to improve outcomes for individuals with severe disabilities. Her current research investigates how education professionals (e.g., teachers, paras, speech pathologists) are taught to implement evidence-based practices with individuals who have complex communication needs and how education professionals transfer these learned skills to the natural environment and novel, untrained contexts.
