Insiya Bhalloo is a first year PhD student at the Bilingual and Multilingual Development lab, University of Toronto (Department of Speech-Language Pathology, Rehabilitation Sciences Institute), under supervision of Dr. Monika Molnar. Insiya's research focuses on establishing age-, linguistically-, and culturally-appropriate literacy screening tools to facilitate early identification and intervention of reading difficulties in Urdu-English bilingual children across Canada and Pakistan. Her PhD involves establishing predictive validity of a novel Urdu phonological awareness tele-screening tool.
