Dr. Garand is an Assistant Professor of Speech Pathology at the University of South Alabama. She teaches a 4-credit hour graduate course in Dysphagia, and has received funding to investigate how to improve learning outcomes and retention for students in dysphagia education. She supervises graduate students in the University's outpatient clinic in adult diagnostics. Her clinical and research expertise is in motor neuron disease and sleep-related disorders.
