Dr. Castilla-Earls' primary research interests are language development, assessment and disorders in monolingual and bilingual children. Her current research explores approaches to differentiate typically developing bilingual children from bilingual children with language disorders by (a) examining differences between monolingual and bilingual development, and (b) studying the effect of language exposure shifts on bilingual development.
