Karen Wylie is an SLP academic and researcher at the School of Allied Health, Curtin University. Karen also continues to work with the University of Ghana where she was part of the team that designed and delivered the inaugural Masters of Speech-Language Therapy degree. Karen lived and worked in sub-Saharan Africa for 16 years. Karen's research uses qualitative and mixed methods to explore services for people with communication disabilities, particularly in underserved contexts.

•I am on faculty (unsalaried) at the University of Ghana. I have been engaged with the Univerity of Ghana since 2013 and was part of the group of SLPs who designed and implemented the Master's degree SLP training at that institution. This ongoing engagement, and work across both high and low-middle income contexts across almost 2 decades has helped shaped my ideas and thinking in this area, relevant to the content of the submission.
