Tara V. McCarty is a ASHA-certified speech-language pathologist (SLP) and is currently a doctoral candidate at Penn State University. She worked for 7 years as a school-based SLP in St. Louis, Missouri and Lancaster, Pennsylvania prior to returning to work towards her PhD. Tara's research interests include augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) design, intervention, and training for individuals with communication needs and cortical/cerebral visual impairment (CVI).
