We present research on a Spanish-English screening/assessment tool, including the theoretical framework and research that guided its development. This tool is normed on 3- to 7-year-old bilingual Spanish-English children from the Paciﬁc Northwest in Standard Mexican Spanish language environments. The importance of the child’s type of bilingualism, dominant language, parent information, and cultural and linguistic properties of both languages in screening and assessment are described. We share the Spanish-English bilingual developmental norms used for screening and/or assessment administration, including accuracy, error patterns, and early/middle/late sound categories. This information culminates in a description of the current stackable screener and assessment instrument, including the rationale behind this two-step approach.
