This professional education presentation aims to guide clinicians through our model of interdisciplinary management by highlighting specific case studies within our cochlear implant (CI) program at the Connecticut Veterans Affairs Healthcare System. We will review our process related to determining candidacy, pre-operative counseling, and post-operative and rehabilitative management. In all of these steps, we will highlight the roles and benefit of multiple disciplines in optimizing outcomes for CI patients. We will review specific case studies to further illustrate the benefits of interdisciplinary care and optimization of outcomes for Veterans with CI.
