The purpose of this research was to expand clinician knowledge about the current dysphagia care practices before and during the crisis of COVID-19, and supplement understanding of the impact of COVID-19 on interprofessional practice with dysphagia care to help consider an approach for the most efficient, effective, and safe plan of care. Based on the analysis conducted, four themes were identified across all participants; assessment process, treatment process, PPE, and percentage of dysphagia patients on their caseloads. Almost all participants mentioned that the assessment process for their dysphagia patients has only slightly changed since COVID-19, however, safety protocols had been implemented that impacted instrumentation and referral procedures.
