To make the most out of our online therapy sessions, it is not uncommon to create our own engaging materials. Who doesn’t love a set of superhero Memory cards you made with Google Images? What group of elementary students wouldn’t love that I Spy page you screen-shared? Your colleague is looking for a narrative language activity like the one you bought off that one website; why not give them a copy? It sounds harmless: right-click, copy, paste. Email a copy to a friend. It’s an online therapy session, who will know? Beware the slippery slope of copyright infringement. Protect your practice, respect your colleagues, and identify how to properly navigate educational exceptions and fair use for teletherapy.
