Interventions for children with speech sound disorders (SSD) are complex. They require multiple elements to be implemented in dynamic interactions between clinicians and children. Continuing professional education and reflection on clinical practice is fundamental to ensuring that practice is evidence-based, and interventions are implemented with acceptable fidelity. In this session we introduce a logic model to guide clinicians’ implementation of interventions for children with SSD. The model comprises five components: resources, activities, output, outcomes, and impacts. The unique role of coaching to advance practice when skills have reached a plateau will be highlighted. The value of checklists to ensure acceptable fidelity of intervention implementation will be addressed.

Describe 2. Participants will be able to describe the five components of a logic model to guide the implementation of interventions for SSD in children.
