Over the past several decades researchers and clinicians alike have shifted their therapeutic mindsets regarding the definition and treatment of stuttering from the listener’s perspective to the speaker’s. Conceptualization and treatment of stuttering is now often framed through the WHO-ICF model utilizing counseling-based holistic approaches. However, many SLPs still frequently report feeling ill prepared and uncomfortable with creating and implementing SMART Holistically-Based EBP supported goals for clients who stutter. The authors will guide attendees through case examples of holistically-based SMART EBP supported goal writing with specific treatment strategies and outcome examples.
