5034V - Patient-Reported Voice Over Time Compared to Self-Rating Scales of Voice in Presbylarynges Patients

After an average of 4.6 years from their last clinic visit, treated and untreated presbylarynges patients reported whether their voices had been better, stable or worse over time and rated standardized voice quality-of-life scales. These ratings were compared to their last clinic visit and coded as better, stable or worse. All reporting better voice were untreated, and demonstrated ratings that were better or stable. Most reporting stable voice demonstrated ratings within normal limits at both visits, regardless of treatment status. Significantly fewer subjects reporting a worse voice demonstrated worse ratings. Using only ratings from the last clinic visit, Voice-Related Quality of Life and effort ratings best predicted voice over time. This study adds to patient evidence for treatment of presbylarynges
