1686L - From Bench to Clinic: Recent Advances in Voice and Their Clinical Applications

This session is developed by, and presenters invited by, Voice and Upper Airway Issues. While voice science and clinical practice has advanced, researchers are still working hard to better understand and improve our treatment options. The gap between scientific discovery and clinical application is immense as there are many steps between a laboratory discovery and widespread clinical implementation. Our hopes are that this session accelerates clinician knowledge of the science and clinical applications in two areas relevant to clinical practice. This session will focus on recent scientific advances and their clinical application in vocal fold wound healing and laryngeal reinnervation. The speakers will begin with an update on recent literature and in-progress research then share the clinical implications of these discoveries and end with an overview of current evidence-based practices.
