1423L - IDDSI Implementation, Research, and Practice Patterns: Interdisciplinary Application for Pediatric Populations

This session is developed by, and presenters invited by, Pediatric Feeding and Swallowing. The purpose of this professional education session is to share the most recent literature on the International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative in the pediatric population, examine potential benefits and barriers of IDDSI implementation specific to pediatrics, outline roles of different professions (SLP, RD, OT, RN, MD) within the IDDSI framework, and discuss the importance of interprofessional collaboration and education. Clinicians across diverse work settings and team structures will leave with evidence based and practical IDDSI implementation resources, while also learning about ways to contribute to emerging evidence and application of the IDDSI framework within the pediatric population.
