As health care transitions to a population-level model, speech-language pathologists and audiologists must increase their knowledge of public health concepts related to communication disorders in order to align with high level trends impacting all health professions education. In this session, the presenters will describe public health in the context of speech-language pathology and audiology, opportunities to increase public health preparation for current and future communication health practitioners, and specific action items for reconsidering the roles of speech-language pathologists and audiologists in public health.
