One individual's overview of the discipline from the late 1960s to the present. The focus is on mentors and colleagues -- most of whom have been ASCPT members -- who influenced the speaker's path over the decades. Topical areas have included the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of sedative-antianxiety agents, regulation of drug-metabolizing enzymes and transporters, mechanisms of drug interactions, and recent observations from the interface of drug regulation and the scientific community.
