Pharmacogenomics (PGx) Community

Session Description

The Pharmacogenomics (PGx) Community is delighted to bring together practitioners who offer unique perspectives on various approaches to implement precision medicine into clinical practice, as they represent diverse professional and practice settings. With significant advancements in sequencing/genotyping technology and increased provider training, there is a demand within various practice settings to offer precision medicine models that incorporate PGx testing and review of patient-specific information (e.g., multi-drug interactions, therapeutic drug monitoring, targetable somatic mutations in cancer) to guide drug therapy selection and/or dosing.

This novel, interactive session will educate attendees via flash talks on innovative precision medicine models in primary care, psychiatry, and oncology, as well as illustrate examples of clinical PGx application through patient cases.

Learning Objectives

1. Compare and contrast approaches and characteristics of the presented pharmacogenomic implementations across a variety of clinical practice settings.

2. Discuss the roles of and opportunities for lead and supporting practitioners in the described pharmacogenomic implementations within primary care, psychiatry, and oncology.
