Session Description

A large amount of information is collected during drug development with the aim of characterizing variability in drug response and providing guidance to prescribers in terms of dosing. Sophisticated mathematical models are created which link dosage regimen with clinical response across the studied population. These learnings and predictive tools are often discarded, and not used once a drug receives regulatory approval. With the digitization of healthcare globally and the steadily increased implementation of methods from computer/data science, artificial intelligence/machine learning in response to the availability of Big Data, the necessary infrastructure and data are becoming more commonly available to advance drug utilization and outcomes. This session will discuss how these State-Of-The-Art predictive tools can be applied to pharmacoepidemiology, model-informed precision medicine and real world patient care settings with the goal of optimizing medical treatment for the ultimate betterment of patients.
