Session Description

The Patient Forum is a session that highlights the role innovation in translational science can play in patients’ lives and the role that patients can have in advancing science. The Patient Forum will feature the story of Mila Makovec, her family, and the scientists devoted to finding a cure for rare, fatal diseases. In 2018, Mila became the first person in the world to receive a drug customized to just one person, inspiring a mission to turn her story into an entirely new treatment path of individualized medicines.
