Dr. Youssef Roman, PharmD, Ph.D., is currently an Assistant Professor at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of pharmacy with an appointment in the Department of Pharmacotherapy and Outcomes Science. Dr. Roman is also an adjunct Assistant Professor at VCU School of Medicine with an appointment in the Department of Allergy, Immunology, and Rheumatology. He earned his PharmD from Oregon State University and his Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota School of Pharmacy. He currently studies the association of urate levels with cardiovascular diseases and the role of genomics and pharmacogenomics in gout management. He has published both original research and review papers in this area and has presented his research at clinical pharmacology, national pharmacy, and rheumatology meetings. He has been a member of ASCPT since 2017 and has served on multiple steering committees, including pharmacogenomics and special populations.
