Dr. Vivian K. Kawai, MD, MPH, is an Assistant Professor at Vanderbilt University Medical Center with appointment in the Division of Clinical Pharmacology at the Departments of Medicine. She earned her MD from the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia, her Master in Public Health degree from the Universite Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium and finished a fellowship in the Division of Clinical Pharmacology at Vanderbilt University. Her research is focused on how genetic variability affects complex traits with strong inflammatory components, such as cardiometabolic disorders, in the presence and absence of environmental stressors.
