Nam Nguyen, PharmD/MS, is currently a PhD student at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy within the Department of Pharmacotherapy & Translational Research, and an Acute Care Surgery Pharmacist at UF Health Shands hospital. He earned his PharmD/MS from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. He currently studies pediatric hematology/oncology pharmacogenomics under Dr. Jatinder Lamba. During his first year of graduate school, he began to conduct research on epigenetics and proteomics in pediatric patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). He is currently in the second year of PhD and has had the opportunity to work on a variety of pharmacogenomics projects, including pediatric hematopoietic cell transplantation and prognostic score predictors of adverse effects in pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia treatment (ALL). He is currently working on his doctoral dissertation using the CRISPR-Cas9 screens technique to better understand the molecular biology of drug resistance and sensitivity in AML treated with standard chemotherapy.
