Dr. Jaydeep Sinha, M.Pharm, PhD, is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Pediatrics within the School of Medicine of University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, NC, USA. Dr. Sinha is a pharmacist and a pharmacometrician by training. He completed his Bachelors and Masters in Pharmacy from Jadavpur University at Kolkata in India, and did his PhD in pharmacometrics from University of Otago at Dunedin in New Zealand. Dr. Sinha has several years of experience in working as a modeling and simulation (M&S) scientist in both non-clinical and clinical pharmacology domains, that include both industrial and academic research. Prior to his PhD, he worked for 6 years as a PK and PK-PD M&S scientist in two leading drug discovery-based organizations, Eurofins Advinus and Biocon-Bristol Myers Squibb Research Center (BBRC), located at Bangalore in India. Following his PhD, he worked for one and half year as a postdoctoral research associate in pharmacometrics, focusing on pediatric clinical pharmacolog, at the Eshelman School of Pharmacy of University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Sinha has authored and co-authored several research and review articles in leading clinical pharmacology journals. He is also active in other scholarly activities, such as serving the editorial board of a leading clinical pharmacology journal, and reviewing manuscripts on request.
His current research is focused on developing appropriate dosing strategy for under-studied drugs in children and adolescents using M&S.
