Dr. Gilbert Koch, PhD, is currently a Senior Research Fellow at the University Children’s Hospital Basel in the Department of Pediatric Pharmacology and Pharmacometrics. In addition, he is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the State University of New York at Buffalo. Dr. Koch is an interdisciplinary scientist with applied mathematical and computational background, and 15 years of experience in pharmacology and pharmacometrics. His main scientific research topics are to (i) enhance the pharmacometrics methodology with approaches from applied mathematics, control theory, machine learning and artificial intelligence, (ii) model neonatal and pediatric data with special focus on maturation effects, and (iii) develop decision support tools for health care professionals and caregivers.
