Associate Principal Scientist

Dr. Xian Pan is an Associate Principal Scientist at Certara UK Ltd, Simcyp Division. She received her PhD in Biopharmaceutical Sciences from University of Illinois at Chicago. Her research was focused on understanding the underlying mechanisms of the altered pharmacokinetics in pregnancy and characterising novel contributors to inter-individual variabilities in CYP2D6-mediated drug metabolism. After earning her PhD, she worked in the industry as a Senior Research Scientist, leading and managing preclinical DMPK projects from drug discovery to IND filing. Since 2017, she joined Simcyp where she contributed to the development and application of various PBPK models in adult and paediatric Simulators for small molecules and therapeutic proteins. She developed Japanese and Chinese paediatric population models and was involved in the enhancement of preterm and feto-placental PBPK models. She has contributed to several publications in the field and provided training and consultancy for a number of pharmaceutical companies.
