Angela DM Kashuba, BScPhm, PharmD, DABCP, FCP is the Dean of the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and the John A and Margaret P McNeill Sr Distinguished Professor. She is an Adjunct Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases in the UNC School of Medicine, and is board certified by the American Board of Clinical Pharmacology. She also is the Director of the University of North Carolina Center for AIDS Research Clinical Pharmacology and Analytical Chemistry Core, a Co-Investigator for the UNC K12 Building Interdisciplinary Research Careers in Women’s Health grant, and part of the UNC Women’s Interagency HIV Study. Her laboratory works with the ACTG and IMPAACT networks to provide bioanalytical support for clinical trials and is part of the CPQA Cross-Network Clinical Pharmacology Laboratory Forum. Dr. Kashuba oversees a multidisciplinary and translational research program focused on optimizing antiretroviral pharmacology in HIV treatment, prevention, and cure. Her laboratory is CLIA- (#34D1022136) and CAP- (LAP#7521077;AU-ID#1589458) accredited. Along with traditional pharmacology techniques, her laboratory is developing methods for mass spectrometry imaging of small molecules in tissues to better quantify heterogeneous drug distribution, and a dynamic cell culture system to conduct more rigorous PK/PD in cell systems for HIV cure. She has trained over 100 undergraduates, and MD, PharmD, and PhD students and post-doctoral fellows. Dr. Kashuba's labooratory has published over 250 peer reviewed manuscripts and book chapters, and currently holds 2 R01s from NIAID.
