Principal Scientist
Certara
Viji Chelliah works as a Principal Scientist at Certara’s Quantitative Systems Pharmacology Division in UK. She has several years of experience in bioinformatics, computational structural/systems biology and modelling. Prior to starting at Certara, she worked as a Project Lead of BioModels and associated projects, at EMBL-EBI, Cambridge, UK. She did her postdoctoral research at the National Institute for Medical Research (MRC-NIMR), London, where she worked on de-novo protein structure prediction, refinement and ranking of the predicted protein models based on the functional site potential. She received her PhD with Prof Sir Tom Blundell at the Department of Biochemistry, University of Cambridge, where she investigated and generated an evolutionary analysis of the local structural environment of amino acid and developed a method to predict the functional sites of protein families and applied it in sequence-structure homology recognition and protein-protein docking.
