PhD Student
The University of Manchester
Shawn Pei Feng Tan is a PhD Student in the Centre for Applied Pharmacokinetic Research at the University of Manchester, under the mentorship of Prof. Aleksandra Galetin, Dr Daniel Scotcher and Prof. Amin Rostami-Hodjegan. He completed his Bachelor of Science (Honours) from the National University of Singapore in 2019. He has published several research papers on the use of physiologically-based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) modelling and contributed a case study to the OECD guidance document on the characterisation, validation and reporting of physiologically-based kinetic models for regulatory purposes. Currently, his PhD focuses on understanding the effect of chronic kidney disease on the function of organic anion transporters 1 and 3 (OAT1/3) in the kidney, and integrating it into PBPK models for renally impaired populations.
